Your pets are family at BARK & we strive to give them the same level of care and attention that you would give them at home. We aim to create a place that is fun, safe and caring. Their home away from home – and so close to Christchurch!
Our overall holistic approach
Animal health
Please discuss on arrival, any medications your pet may be on. We will administer for a daily charge of $5, or ($15 if required outside of our office hours of 7.30am – 6.00pm.) This is in addition to your stay rate. All medications will be administered by a trained member of staff)
Our ethos
We choose our staff carefully – we look for a happy disposition, a strong work ethic and an all consuming passion for animals. We believe that when we create a healthy and happy work environment, this flows through to the animals, and you the customer will see this when you see your pets at the end of their stay. Ultimately, we strive for happy customers – 2 & 4 legged!
Education and staff qualifications
Our permanent staff hold a varied selection of qualifications. Currently we have the following expertise amongst our staff & on site every week;
10 year Vet Clinic Management
Level 3 cert in Animal Care
Level 5 Vet nurse assistant
Certificate in Dog Psychology, Behaviour & Training
Level 4 Animal Management cert,
Level 2 Grooming Cert.
Level 2 Basic Obedience Training
We are extremely fortunate to have a qualified nurse who takes care of our K9 and feline medication requirements.
We have been approached by ARA Institute of Canterbury to help with their work placements for their veterinary school students. We look forward to working with students to help them gain experience and knowledge in a working environment.
We are committed to continuous investment in skills and training to keep in step with best practice and holistic approaches to animal care.
We also work alongside two of Rollestons most trusted vets and are always expanding our network of natural dog healthcare practitioners and animal trainers to offer you your preferred healthcare approach.
Creating a community
We believe that community is important. Where possible we like to employ locally, use local tradespeople and it is our intention to provide a first class service to our local community. This Kennels and Cattery is yours and is on your doorstep. It is an excellent facility and I promise you it is going to get better.
Review & feedback
We love getting your feedback especially when we are doing something well. Our staff work so hard at looking after your furry friends and they love to be told occasionally. Sometimes we get it wrong and we will do our best to put it right, if we know about it. We welcome all feedback.
