Terms and Conditions
The proprietors and staff of BARK Kennels & Cattery undertake to treat all pets in our care with respect and to provide a safe, clean, and caring environment. Every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure the health, welfare, and wellbeing of all animals in our care.
While all reasonable care is taken regarding hygiene and infection control, BARK cannot be held responsible for illness, injury, parasites, or infectious diseases (including kennel cough, fleas, or worms) that may occur during boarding.
You, the owner, accepts full responsibility for any injury, illness, death, or damage caused by your pet to another animal, person, or property while they are in the care of BARK, including all associated veterinary or medical costs.
All dogs must wear a collar or harness with identification while boarding. No chain collars please
Vaccination requirements-
Dogs must be fully vaccinated against Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper, and Kennel Cough (Bordetella and Parainfluenza) within required timeframes (as detailed here- https://barkkennels.co.nz/bark-dog-boarding/ ). No current vaccinations = no boarding.
Cats must be fully vaccinated against Calicivirus, Feline Infectious Enteritis (Panleukopenia), and Rhinotracheitis (Herpes). No current vaccinations = no boarding.
Rabbits must be fully vaccinated against Viral Haemorrhagic Disease. No current vaccination = no boarding.
Fleas and Worming- Please ensure your dog(s) and/or cat(s) has been wormed and received flea treatment prior to their stay with us. If we need to worm or flea your dog(s) and/or cat(s) during their stay with us, the charge for their treatment will be added to your bill.
Entire females- Female dogs in season will not be boarded without prior discussion and agreement. Any entire female that comes in to season whilst boarding with us will need to be collected. Any female that has been in season prior to boarding with us, can not board with us until a month after her last bleed.
Health and behaviour disclosure- It is important that you provide full and accurate information regarding your pet’s health, behaviour, medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, or medications, Failure to disclose relevant information may put your pet or others at risk.
Veterinary treatment and authority- If your pet becomes unwell or injured, you authorise BARK to obtain veterinary treatment as deemed necessary. All veterinary and associated transport costs will be at your expense. There is a $25 charge for transporting your pet to the vet per visit.
Personal property- We do ask that personal property is not brought in with your dog(s). BARK has beds, blankets and toys for your dog(s) to use during their stay with us. Exceptions to beds will be made for elderly dogs, young puppies and dogs with a medical condition. Whilst we will do all we can to look after any property that is accepted in with your dog(s), BARK takes no responsibility for any damage that may occur.
Playgroups– Unless otherwise agreed, you understand your dog may participate in supervised group play during their stay.
Photography- You give permission for your pet(s) to be photographed and for images to be used on BARK’s website and social media.
Booking and fees- You understand that BARK reserves the right to charge for booked boarding days, including late cancellations and unused days, up to a maximum of 10 days unless otherwise agreed.
You also agree that should you need to change your booking from a morning check out to an afternoon check out, another day’s charge will be added.
Uncollected animal clause – You agree that if you fail to collect your pet(s) at the end of the agreed booking period, and BARK is unable to contact you or your nominated emergency contact within seven (7) days following the end of your booking period, you will be deemed to have relinquished ownership of your pet(s) and suitable arrangements will be made.
In these circumstances, you authorise BARK to rehome you pet(s) or transfer ownership to an appropriate rescue organisation or new owner. Any outstanding boarding or veterinary costs remain payable by you.
By leaving your pet(s) in our care, you agree to our terms and conditions.
